Audio: Red Terror in Russia 1918-1923

In 1924, a Russian historian by the name of Serge P. Mulganov published Red Terror in Russia 1918-1923 in Berlin documenting the ongoing crimes of the Bolsheviks in Russia. The audio version of it is below in roughly ten-minute chunks. Even though this is maybe the most detailed and shocking account of genocide from the inside ever written, Melgunov was never able to find a publisher for an English-language version of this important work. Odd, no? The translation is a bit ragged because it is the work of a private citizen—not a professional translator—who undertook the task out of a sense of duty to humanity. I try to smooth the rough edges as I read but it is still pretty rough. Also, my pronunciation of the Russian names is, I’m sure, atrocious. But everyone should make it a point to familiarize themselves with what history’s most brutal holocaust was about in order to get an idea of the danger we face today. No one was ever held to account for the enormous crimes committed against the Russian people between 1917 and 1987. The descendants of those criminals immigrated to the United States, where they are now in positions of power. Melgunov’s book is the best way to get a sense of what that means.
