After reading Serge Melgunov's The Red Terror in Russia, I can't even think about taking someone like Elie Wiesel seriously I can't tell you what a feeling of revulsion I had watching busload after busload of school kids filing into this traveling Holocaust show at Union Station in Kansas City at $17 per head. They had authentic death camp soup bowls! And an honest-to-God German-made railroad car parked out front! I went up to the old lady taking money at the entrance and asked whether the exhibits inside also included information about the 66 million Russian Christians who were also holocausted in the 20th century. "It's on the website," she snapped. LOL
I went onto r/kansascity and, oh boy, the somber reverence for the enormity of Jewish suffering! I pointed out that this was just an updated version of the King and the Duke's The Royal Nonesuch with an Internet connection. Of course, I was immediately and permanently banned from r/kansascity
That show fleeced the rubes in Kansas City all day every day for months and months and even held it over, it was so popular. We are really too stupid to even have a country.

Frankly, it was one of the most difficult times in my life. My Mother is German (born in 1043), raised in post war ruins. She was re-educated, but the few conversations I had with her mom (Oma) later in life proved to me that my Mom's reeducation was a lie. Oma would never come out and say it, but she loved Nazi Germany and hated Weimar.
They all despise jews, but would never say it out loud.

I was exposed to extermination camp newsreels at the Florida State Fair in Tampa while still in grade school (7th or 8th). It was in some side show tent where they spooled various shocking movie clips for a quarter. If they had naughty nudie stuff I don't remember, but the naked and dead victims' bodies made a lasting impression.
They seem to know what they are doing with "making a lasting impression."
I remember being herded off to the school library (at age 8 or 9?) to watch a version of Night and Fog - one of the earliest holocaust propaganda films. The reason we were watching it in the library and not in our classroom (where we usually watched film reels) was because they were bringing multiple classes in to see the show.

Chinese nationals actually played a large role in the Red Terror in Russia, along with Latvians, especially Latvian Jews, and, to a lesser extent, Koreans. Essentially, they were mercenaries--roving bands of thugs who were brought in to help subdue the Russian people, on whom they were allowed to prey with impunity. The Chinese were relied on heavily for their efficiency in conducting mass executions and they filled many of the mid-level staff positions in the gulag system. They were hated and feared by the Russians and known for their cold-blooded and skillful application of torture. I suppose it's easier to torture and kill innocent people if you don't speak the language and can't understand their pleas for mercy. Whole Russian families froze to death in their cellars rather than emerge onto the street and risk falling into the hands of Chinese torturers. The person who sketched the "torture porn" above was a guard in the gulag system, who got his job through his father, who also worked there. He looks more Korean than Chinese, but he is clearly Asian. The ostensible purpose of the Chinese nationals' participation in the genocide of Russian Christians was that they were training in "revolutionary tactics" to take back with them to China, which, apparently, they did.

The idea that there was a German program to exterminate European Jewry didn't get legs until Raul Hilberg published is book "The Destruction of the European Jews" in 1961. Hilberg was one of those Deborah Lipstadt-Jonathan Greenblatt-Randy Fine type of Jews. If a sixth-grader somewhere absent-mindedly doodled a swastika on his notebook, to Hilberg, it was a troop of Cossacks massacring entire shtetls. He spent years trying to get his book published, but faced resistance from within the Jewish community, or an embarrassed silence. Finally it was published,16 years after the end of the war, and today he is considered the "founding father of Holocaust Studies."
Three men who were in far better positions than an excitable teenager in Brooklyn to know the details of what occurred during WWII were Dwight Eisenhower, Charles De Gaulle, and Winston Churchill. All three men wrote memoirs of the war (Churchill's was six volumes) that were published in the 1950s.. There isn't a single mention in any one of them about gas chambers or a Nazi program of extermination of the Jews. That is a very odd omission of what would be one of the biggest crimes of the war. Even odder that all three men failed to mention it, and especially strange given it would have served as a major justification for their actions in the war and provided them with the moral high ground.

Yes, Trotsky, in my view, is the crucial figure in the Bolshevik takeover in Russia. He was the conduit for the financial support of the Jewish bankers in Europe and the US. He was the intellectual force that carried the day for red terror and mass executions. He was the commander of the Red Army, which was maintained largely through terror (Chinese units, by the way, carried out intra-military discipline and provided personal security for top Bolshevik figures, like Trotsky). It was Trotsky who made the decision to launch the October coup. Lenin, apparently, was a personal coward and was hiding somewhere when the coup went down. If Trotsky hadn't taken ill during a key period, he would probably have prevailed in his personal power struggle with Stalin.
In the Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv, Trotsky is in the permanent installment: Heroes of the Jewish People. (A list of all the heroes used to be publicly available at their website, but, I see they've now removed the actual list.)

Re Poland's victory vs the White Army's defeat at the hands of the Reds, I see now the history of these struggles was quite complex. Poland won in 1920 as did the Baltic states and Finland. The Whites had a much greater struggle w/ much less unity among their various armies. They lacked the patriotic focus of the individual nations. Yet the Whites weren't defeated until 1923. Seems like the Russian soldiers didn't care much for conquest and expanding Soviet empire but rallied against what was perceived as outside interference.

Since my early 20s, I wondered why the Old Testament was attached to the New Testament. They are in direct opposition.

These two documents were NOT linked during the first few centuries of the Christian Church. Worse, the two Testaments were given "equal divine authority!" By whose authority was that authority granted? Jesus'? Paul's? Peter's? Jehovah's? The Pope's? God's? Rome's? The Talmudic rabbinate's? John Nelson Darby's?
Worse, yet, all these many questions and blatant contradictions were dispensed with by the invention of dispensationalism, the practice of dispensing with contradictions by simply declaring them dispensed with.

Think of all the progress humans have made in the last two thousand years in the realms of Science and Art. But, in the realm of Religion, the most complex and important realm, the realm that governs how we treat one another, we've made no progress at all because a couple of millennia ago, a group of men declared that this writing here, and not that writing there, was the complete and final religious truth--that it was "God's Word," period, and could not be changed on pain of everlasting...blah...blah...blah.

Thanks, yes, the Chinese CheKa in Kiev. Melgunov refers to it. Chinese nationals actually played a large role in the Red Terror in Russia, along with Latvians, especially Latvian Jews, and, to a lesser extent, Koreans. Essentially, they were mercenaries--roving bands of thugs who were brought in to help subdue the Russian people, on whom they were allowed to prey with impunity. The Chinese were relied on heavily for their efficiency in conducting mass executions and they filled many of the mid-level staff positions in the gulag system. They were hated and feared by the Russians and known for their cold-blooded and skillful application of torture. I suppose it's easier to torture and kill innocent people if you don't speak the language and can't understand their pleas for mercy. Whole Russian families froze to death in their cellars rather than emerge onto the street and risk falling into the hands of Chinese torturers. The person who sketched the "torture porn" above was a guard in the gulag system, who got his job through his father, who also worked there. He looks more Korean than Chinese, but he is clearly Asian. The ostensible purpose of the Chinese nationals' participation in the genocide of Russian Christians was that they were training in "revolutionary tactics" to take back with them to China, which, apparently, they did.

That's a good point about Auschwitz lagging due to Soviet control of it after the war. But it's not just Auschwitz. This pattern is consistent with everything having to do with the Holocaust. The idea that there was a German program to exterminate European Jewry didn't get legs until Raul Hilberg published is book "The Destruction of the European Jews" in 1961. Hilberg was one of those Deborah Lipstadt-Jonathan Greenblatt-Randy Fine type of Jews. If a sixth-grader somewhere absent-mindedly doodled a swastika on his notebook, to Hilberg, it was a troop of Cossacks massacring entire shtetls. He spent years trying to get his book published, but faced resistance from within the Jewish community, or an embarrassed silence. Finally it was published,16 years after the end of the war, and today he is considered the "founding father of Holocaust Studies."
Three men who were in far better positions than an excitable teenager in Brooklyn to know the details of what occurred during WWII were Dwight Eisenhower, Charles De Gaulle, and Winston Churchill. All three men wrote memoirs of the war (Churchill's was six volumes) that were published in the 1950s.. There isn't a single mention in any one of them about gas chambers or a Nazi program of extermination of the Jews. That is a very odd omission of what would be one of the biggest crimes of the war. Even odder that all three men failed to mention it, and especially strange given it would have served as a major justification for their actions in the war and provided them with the moral high ground.

His evil has never been better depicted. Tho he's kind of romanticized by the Left in Mexico as Frieda Kahlo's lover, here his lolling deployment on the battlements is almost lovely as a red fleshy seducer. Yet there are other details that catch my eye: two blonde sailors who appear to be females seem part of the oppressive commie crew. Yes, Trotsky, in my view, is the crucial figure in the Bolshevik takeover in Russia. He was the conduit for the financial support of the Jewish bankers in Europe and the US. He was the intellectual force that carried the day for red terror and mass executions. He was the commander of the Red Army, which was maintained largely through terror (Chinese units, by the way, carried out intra-military discipline and provided personal security for top Bolshevik figures, like Trotsky). It was Trotsky who made the decision to launch the October coup. Lenin, apparently, was a personal coward and was hiding somewhere when the coup went down. If Trotsky hadn't taken ill during a key period, he would probably have prevailed in his personal power struggle with Stalin.
In the Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv, Trotsky is in the permanent installment: Heroes of the Jewish People. (A list of all the heroes used to be publicly available at their website, but, I see they've now removed the actual list.)
I've ordered Melgunov. That the Poles were able to defeat the Red Army but the White Army was not is somewhat puzzling.

Seems like I ordered the wrong Melgunov book. The Bolshevik Seizure of Power is only a detailed history of 1917, nothing about the Chinese. He must have another book which Amazon doesn't carry.
Re Poland's victory vs the White Army's defeat at the hands of the Reds, I see now the history of these struggles was quite complex. Poland won in 1920 as did the Baltic states and Finland. The Whites had a much greater struggle w/ much less unity among their various armies. They lacked the patriotic focus of the individual nations. Yet the Whites weren't defeated until 1923. Seems like the Russian soldiers didn't care much for conquest and expanding Soviet empire but rallied against what was perceived as outside interference.

Since my early 20s, I wondered why the Old Testament was attached to the New Testament. They are in direct opposition.
New Testament God: Love your neighbor.
Old Testament God: Genocide your neighbor.
These two documents were NOT linked during the first few centuries of the Christian Church. The Old Testament was attached to the New some time in the 5th century, as I recall, as a decision of some council of theologians. Who knows what the background story of that is? Worse, the two Testaments were given "equal divine authority!" By whose authority was that authority granted? Jesus'? Paul's? Peter's? Jehovah's? The Pope's? God's? Rome's? The Talmudic rabbinate's? John Nelson Darby's?
Worse, yet, all these many questions and blatant contradictions were dispensed with by the invention of dispensationalism, the practice of dispensing with contradictions by simply declaring them dispensed with.
I can accept the idea that some supernatural evil was unleashed in Babylon a long time ago, but I cannot accept the idea that any real God would give us the power of reason and then demand we subordinate this gift to the dictates of a magic book that is destroying us. Nor could any God who purports to be universal have something as absurd and particular as a "chosen people."

I do understand the New Testament is suffused with the Old Testament, which isn't that surprising, given that it was written by Jews. On the other hand, Jews claim that facts were changed by the writers of the New Testament concerning the life of Jesus, e.g., the details of his birth, in order to make the narrative fit Old Testament prophesy.
My own view is that, religiously speaking, it doesn't very much matter whether Jesus was born in Bethlehem, or Nazareth, or Chicago. What does matter is his central message, which was diametrically opposed to the Levitical law. When the Pharisees sent lawyers to bait him into committing the capital offense of blasphemy and posed their three trick questions, this young, homeless, uneducated, unmarried vagrant who hung out with prostitutes and day laborers swept away centuries of Judaic law with a flick of his wrist: Worship God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself. That's Socrates level genius. Jesus was to religion what Bacon was to science.
It's unfortunate that the West imbibed this idea that there is a book somewhere with the magical property of "sacredness." And even the Jews, from whom we got that idea, don't go so far as to say it's unchangeable. Consider the three realms of human expression: Science, Art, and Religion. Think of all the progress humans have made in the last two thousand years in the realms of Science and Art. But, in the realm of Religion, the most complex and important realm, the realm that governs how we treat one another, we've made no progress at all because a couple of millennia ago, a group of men declared that this writing here, and not that writing there, was the complete and final religious truth--that it was "God's Word," period, and could not be changed on pain of everlasting...blah...blah...blah.

By the way, you asked me for examples from Deuteronomy to back up my claim that the Levitical Jehovah commands followers to exterminate or enslave all other humans. I provided them and included the boast by "Moses" of previous genocides. In your response, you only addressed that boast, but not the commands to enslave or exterminate.
