My wife is Russian, born in the USSR. One thing that puzzeled me was the difference between Soviet feminism and Western feminism. It is interesting to me that Soviet feminism gave women power yet allowed them to retain their feminnity (but not Christian faith), while Western feminism has all our females looking like disgusting asexual slatterns. I'm more and more coming to the position that there's just no salvaging Christianity. It was fatally compromised with the attachment of the Old testament and giving the slaughter God equal Divine authority with Jesus. I mean there's a whole shitload of garbage Christianity inherited from Judaism that just has to be checked out the window if we're going to have anything like a rational religion. For example the idea that there's some sort of magic book with God's word in it has to go that's just a stupid idea. The idea that any kind of real God would demand the sacrifice of innocent blood to atone for the sins of others is also insane and has to go those are both things Christianity absorbed fatally from Judaism

Craig, this is an insightful piece with good backgrounders. I for one wasn't aware of these Bolshevik laws. But coming back to the survey it exemplifies perfectly the aphorism "Most people do not defend beliefs. They defend their conditioning". In particular, the 'soldier mindset' that people will bristle with indignation on hearing a across-the-table holocaust denial will accompany only the positive conditioning they would have encountered.
Meaning they are not only not likely to react as violently and perhaps even push back - to say stories of Jewish Fat soap even though there are plenty of 'holocaust' 'survivors' who have recited their supposed the story of RJF soap made of "Pure Jewish Fat" [1]. This, I posit, is because this story did not appear in Schindler's list or the 1970s made-for-tv holocaust miniseries or any textbook. So what happened in their minds to "Believe the victims"?. They are free to debunk this putative belief because the formative indoctrination media never pushed this clearly fake story. But the equally fraudulent '6 Million' or the 'gas chambers', by the 'survivors' had to be believed. The Auschwitiz orchestra or camp infirmary where thousands of babies were born or the swimming pool - films of which exist - not to be believed. All this dichotomy of belief truisms does not rankle in their deeply programmed minds, indicating that they are verily defending their conditioning not their beliefs let alone principles*.
